Blatherskite

This is the Japanese Garden’s Koi Pond at Manito Park. Manito Park is an very old park, created in the early 1900s. It was designed by the Olmsted Brothers, sons of Fredrick Olmsted sr., who designed Central Park and a park at the Chicago World’s fair in the early 1900’s.

I’ve been really missing Santa Cruz lately. I keep thinking about how we used to go for walks to the beach and then I realize how far away from the beach I am and my heart aches. It literally aches. I miss it.

I also miss the camaraderie I had at SCU. It seems that as soon as I started there I felt comfortable with the people I worked with. I made fast friends with them and we could laugh. I don’t really have that here. The people I work with are wonderful, don’t get me wrong. But I don’t have the same kind of connection that I had at SCU.

The people in Spokane are different. They are friendly..But it feels different here. I don’t know how to explain it. So I guess I will stop trying.
