Low energy lightbulbs.
Image via Wikipedia

After work I made my (almost) daily visit to the grocery store to grab some things for dinner. My plan was to also pick up a couple of fluorescent lightbulbs. Regular lightbulbs will not suffice. I am going to replace them all, eventually, with the fuorescent ones. They are much more energy efficient. Which means, for me, less times that I have to change lightbulbs.

So I go to the “electric stuff” aisle and guess what? My Rosauers is clean out of them. Completely. And the regular bulbs are just sitting on the shelves, gathering dust. I kind of stood there for a second and smiled. Maybe Spokane is “getting” it. Or at least a few people, anyway.

That is a good sign! We are down to changing all the odd shaped bulbs now. But they are all out of those as well, so we’ve been looking at snagging those on-line instead of locally.

What did Gore say, if we changed just one normal light bulb per household in America it would save 1.5 billion tons of coal from being burned. We’ve replaced 50 bulbs so far only 11 more to go and we’ll be doing all we can on that front.
