I finished knitting Mr. Greenjeans and it is now blocking. It took me a couple of weeks to knit this. About the same amount of time as any sweater, really. So don’t be deceived by the pattern that says you can make this in a week. It took the same amount of time as any other worsted-weight sweater I’ve ever knitted. I wasn’t super thrilled after I tried it on. The bottom part is ribbed and so doesn’t seem to fit very well on the bottom half of my body. I tried to stretch the hell out of when I blocked it. I hope that helps. There is nothing worse than trying a sweater you have worked on for two weeks (or more) and deciding that you don’t like it. At least in my opinion.

Now I have to decide on a button.

I think i like the black flower or the white button. The brown one seems really off, but it could be the pictures. I never trust anyone when they say they knitted something up in a certain amount of time. It always seems to take me twice as long!

I really like the wooden one in the middle actually, but all of them would look nice.

that stinks you don’t like the way it fits. have you tried it on with different pants/skirts it could be them. I hear you though working on something you love and then you don’t like the way it fits.
If you’re going to finish it i’d say the middle brown button give it that wonderful look. But why finish it if it’s going to visit the frog pond.? I feel your pain.. sigh.

Not that you need any more opinions or anything, but I vote for the wooden button or the one on the right! And, I think the cardi looks awesome. Although, I know exactly what you mean when you say there’s nothing worse than putting it on and not absolutely loving it. I’ve abandoned more projects than I care to remember when they’re just short of that final stage when they’re almost done but I realize that it’s just not love!

It’s interesting how different buttons can give a garment a whole different vibe. The wooden one will give it a more rustic look. I think I like the ivory? one on the right the best. But it’s really hard to tell in photos vs. real life. I hope that some blocking will give you the fit you’re looking for!!
