My goodness! Has it already been a week since I’ve posted? I have to say, this summer has sort of been kicking-my-ass busy with the Summer Reading Program at work. it’s a good thing because there is nothing more rewarding than getting kids excited about reading but I have been finding myself knackered after work and not in the mood to blog.
I did find this camera over the weekend, though. It’s an antique folding camera that was given to me by my mom’s uncle when I was a little girl. I thought it was so precious at the time that I kept it in the box and only took it out to look at it every once in awhile.
I took the plunge and ordered 127 film for it from B&H. I got a roll of colored film and a roll of black and white. I found a place in Portland that I can send it to for developing.
I have no idea how to use this camera. Well, that’s not true really. It’s actually really obvious. There is a small lever on the side of the lens that opens up the shutter. I really should say that I don’t know how to take a picture that isn’t shitty with this camera. I don’t know what the aperture or the focal length is. There will probably be light leakage through the billows. I’m looking forward to playing with it though. I’m going to do a little bit of research, see if I can track down an manual, before I use it. I want to plan out my shots in advance since I’m actually using film. I’m kind of embarrassed about sending film off somewhere to get developed and having the shots turn out horribly.
Here goes nothing.
