Today I read an article in the latest issue of Bust magazine about the health benefits of doing a digital detox for 72 hours. I need to do this! I am so completely addicted to my phone at the moment and I can feel it affecting my mood. I have things that I want to do but no time to do those things: play ukulele, learn to play harmonica, write, knit, sketch, photography, etc. Granted, my list is way too long and could use some reevaluating, but I often wonder how much I would get done if I didn’t stare into the vacuum of my phone or computer screen so much.
72 hours seems very doable. I don’t look at email on the weekend anyway. I can extend that to the computer and phone.
I’m thinking that I will try this once a month starting next weekend!
