Last weekend I decided to bring my sketchbook out with me, my first time sketching in public. I sketched this while waiting for my husband to get off work in the library at Portland Community College.
I have to admit that I’ve reached a drawing slump and I’m feeling very unmotivated. Maybe it’s because I’ve been putting most of my creative energy into writing poetry these past couple of weeks? Is this even possible? Does creativity work that way?
Regardless, it breaks my heart that my desire to draw has left me. I think I might try a different medium for awhile and see if that helps. I also have a ton of drawing books. Maybe if I go through the exercises that will help….
It will return, I’m sure!

I bought pencils and a London sketching diary to give it all a try. I suck . I am still so envious of your sketching abilities.

Thank you Gretchen! I feel like I suck – so you are not alone in that feeling. I’m sure your drawings are awesome!
